BEFORE THE COAT
Prada bra, stylist’s own hat
THERE WAS A BODY
It always begins with the body - untouched, unstyled, unapologetic. A blank page of flesh.
Then comes the first layer - tentative, weightless, a whisper against skin.
A second follows, then a third. Textures accumulate like memory: silk clings, cotton breathes, wool anchors. Each garment another word, another brushstroke, building something new atop something ancient.
The outfit forms not all at once, but in moments - a button fastened, a hem straightened, a shoulder wrapped.
It doesn’t cover her.
It completes her.
She is not lost beneath the layers.
She becomes them.
What begins as body ends as story -
and the coat, the final line.
